Major duties

You will serve as the Natural and Cultural Resources (NR/CR) Operations Manager at San Clemente Island (SCI), providing liaison to the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and command staff. You will provide logistics support and range access requirements for natural and cultural resources programs at SCI. You will escort command, visitors, environmental staff, and regulatory agencies to facilities and field sites for inspections and reviews. You will inspect NR/CR-assigned facilities, structures, and equipment to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance. You will identify and report unsafe, unhealthy, or out-of-compliance environmental situations to leadership.

What you need to qualify

For GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in coordinating with diverse stakeholders on a military installation to support mission operations while meeting natural and cultural resources (NR/CR) requirements; 2) Supporting logistics, access, and facilities management procedures, such as coordinating transportation, equipment, or workspace needs; 3) Gathering information and reporting potential environmental compliance or safety issues to supervisors for review and action; and 4) Communicating observations and program information to supervisors, leadership, contractors, or regulatory agencies in support of compliance and mission readiness. NOTE: Information must be supported in your resume For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate a minimum of three years of environmental compliance and/or conservation media management experience with at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Coordinating with diverse stakeholders on a military installation to balance mission operations with natural and cultural resources (NR/CR) requirements; 2) Developing and implementing logistics, access, and facilities management procedures to support NR/CR programs, including transportation, equipment, and workspace needs; 3) Identifying and reporting potential environmental compliance and safety issues, and recommending corrective actions; and 4) Communicating environmental program requirements and objectives to leadership, contractors, and regulatory agencies to support both compliance and mission readiness.
