This position is located within the Nursing Service of the Oklahoma City Veteran Affairs Healthcare System.

Major duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintains time and attendance records and control in accordance with Timekeeping Manual of Nursing Service employees; Enter schedules, daily time posting, entering overtime, compensatory time requests, and associated leave; Assists in training employees and supervisors on payroll processes and regulations; Prepares memos for T&L access for personnel and various memos as it relates to Timekeeping; Researches various publications and/or databases to extract, summarize, and compile information required for the activities of the service; Prepares, executes, and/or tracks program specific information, such as attendance and leave records, workman's compensation documents, military orders, authorized absence requests, FMLA documents, and other resource utilization documents; Performs other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4:00pm Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not approved

What you need to qualify

TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. ~AND~ To qualify for this position at the GS-5 level, you must meet one of the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Time and Leave Clerk (Office Automation), and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-4) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is performing general clerical duties such as record keeping, data entry, drafting correspondence, tracking data, and running reports.. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. ~OR~ EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. Transcripts must be submitted at time of application. ~OR~ COMBINATION: Equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level.
