What you'd do

You will serve as a TOOLS AND PART ATTENDANT of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Major duties

You will receive, issue, inspect, store, and account for tools, equipment, and supplies, maintain accurate inventory records, recommend suitable replacement items, and keep essential materials available to support production. You will perform visual inspections, operating checks, measurements, and minor repairs, determine when tools require calibration or removal from service, and coordinate timely replacement to maintain reliable equipment. You will organize and maintain an efficient storage system that supports rapid retrieval of tools and equipment, monitor stock levels, anticipate shortages, and adjust inventory to reduce delays in maintenance operations. You will coordinate with the supply organization to replace lost, damaged, or unserviceable tools, document shortages and damaged items, and ensure accountability while supporting uninterrupted maintenance activities. You will apply established tool control procedures, maintain complete records of inventory and equipment condition, verify proper storage and handling practices, and support safe, accurate, and efficient shop operations. You will assist maintenance personnel by ensuring tools, gauges, and equipment are available, serviceable, and properly identified, while maintaining organized storage locations that improve efficiency and reduce production delays.

What you need to qualify

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Resume must demonstrate the following specialized experience: Identifying, receiving, storing, issuing, or maintaining a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, or equipment parts.
