Major duties

This position is part of the Department of War (DoW), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the direction, development, and performance of logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency goals and mission. As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-3 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include: Assist with the direction, development, and performance of multi-functional logistics managementoperations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support theMissile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission. Identify the specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives. Correlate PM objectives with program plans to ensure required logistics support is provided at the right time and place. Coordinate and evaluate logistics support to identify andexecute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and develop and adjust plans and schedules for theactions required to meet each requirement on time. Coordinate with higher level specialists to jointlyresearch and develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focusing on delivering a MDScapability that is effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements.

What you need to qualify

You may qualify at the NH-03 if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in 3 of the 5 the Federal service: Experience planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission. Experience applying logistics processes, policies, procedures and practices necessary to develop and assess technical and economic feasibility, including cost, schedule and performance. Experience researching, planning, coordinating and briefing logistics actions in support of leadership's goals and vision. Experience directing a contract workforce at remote locations managing, storing, and maintaining equipment and vehicles. Experience identifying and applying concepts, policies and practices of logistics management as they apply to new and legacy systems during the acquisition and sustainment phases of the life cycle. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
