About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Battalion located at Fort Hood, TX. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 13 months position. Please see "Additional Information" section below for further details.
Major duties
Analyzes combat and tactical fleet equipment readiness for supported external customer, 1st Cavalry Division, including the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. Compiles data necessary to determine trends, prepares materiel readiness data for display, and provides guidance/assistance where corrective actions and improvements are required. Sources critical repair parts for combat equipment and expedites delivery to the designated location world-wide. Plans, conducts, and coordinates studies to assist in the development of logistics functions such as supply, maintenance, transportation, procurement, and other logistics services in support of external customer equipment readiness. Utilizes Army Logistics Information System (LIS) and all Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) supply chain management tools daily.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Researching readiness shortfalls, such as non-mission capable fleet equipment, to source critical repair materials; 2) Utilizing automated logistics information systems (LIS), such as GCSS-Army, Power Business Intelligence, Vantage and DLA, to evaluate fleet readiness data; 3) Monitoring combat-readiness metrics for supported activities and units, such as fleet assets for armored division and/or cavalry regiments; and 4) Resolving complex fleet logistics issues (i.e.: specific vehicle needs based on individual vehicle serial numbers.) This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
