The position(s) covered by this vacancy announcement is in the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). For more information see: AcqDemo Position serves as the Program Manager in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Establishes program objectives, makes recommendations, planning milestone dates, tracking the processes and costs throughout the life-cycle of the program.

Major duties

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. As a Program Manager at the NH-0340-4 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves at the Program Manager (PM) for the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture (MDSEA) to include the Missile Defense Space Center, Satellite Operations Center (SOC) and Test and Integration Lab (TIL) at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC). Will serve as the Program Manager for the Organic Ground Entry Point contract and other space-ground communication efforts. Act as the responsible authority for the end-to-end execution, integration, delivery, and demonstration of space capabilities, such as satellites and ground systems, ensuring programs meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements. MDSEA is the critical ground command control system enabling MDA's space operations.

What you need to qualify

You may qualify at the NH 04 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 2 of the 3 specialized experience listed below to be qualified: Executing research and development of Acquisition systems or Major Capabilities Acquisition pathways for delivery of space capabilities. Utilizing of acquisition authorities such as Other Transactions. Managing and integrating space and associated ground and communication systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
