What you'd do

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to JBSA Fort Sam Houston Outdoor Recreation Center. This is a Regular Part-Time category position with guaranteed 20 hours per week. May work up to 40 hrs./wk. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

Major duties

Must be able to assist with two activities within the Community Services Flight, RV Storage and Sportsman's Range. Responsibilities are issuance of tools, equipment and games to authorized customers. Checks identification, collects fees when appropriate, and completes appropriate documentation. Receives returned items, inspecting for obvious damage, missing parts and perform make-ready on equipment to be reissued. Checks inventories and supplies. In a recreation facility, assists in directing patrons and scheduling the use of equipment. Participates in set up of equipment for installation functions. Provides facility and program information to patrons. Assists with simple repair, lawn maintenance, grounds keeping, and other duties assigned by management. Required to drive a tractor, forklift, toro and Kawasaki mule. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Have excellent customer service experience. Must have experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures and and/or experience of recreational activities equipment, rules and procedures which involves recreational work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: 1. Able to operate a point-of-sale register system. 2. Knowledge of recreational activities, rules and procedures which involves recreational work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. 3. Be able to communicate effectively in English **NOTE: Those qualified applicants who meet both the minimum qualification requirement(s) and highly preferred criteria(s) will be considered best qualified for this position and will be referred to the selecting official(s) first for consideration.
