PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST (AT/FP)
What you'd do
You will serve as a Regional Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer in the Regional Security Directorate of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.
Major duties
You will provide guidance to various Command departments/divisions and monitor compliance with the regional information, personnel and industrial security programs. You will administer Information and Personnel Security education and awareness programs within the Commands within the area of responsibility. You will consult with the Commanding Officers on incidents or actions that may adversely affect national security. You will administer and implement Personnel Information and Industrial Security guidance, policies and procedures per SECNAV and DOD instructions. You will conduct high complex annual technical assessments program reviews of physical security systems and Anti-Terrorism (AT) readiness at regional activity installments to ensure compliance with Department of Defense of Navy AT/FP instructions.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) direct, operational experience in antiterrorism, force protection, physical security, or a closely related law enforcement or intelligence field; 2) conducting terrorism threat analysis, criticality assessments, and comprehensive vulnerability assessments; 3) planning for and responding to a range of terrorist and criminal incidents; 4) establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with law enforcement agencies and/or intelligence agencies; and 5) exceptional written and oral communication abilities, with skill in briefing senior leadership staff on complex security matters .**NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.** Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
