SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER
What you'd do
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES of NAVAL STATION EVERETT.
Major duties
You will direct firefighters during structural and shipboard fire suppression and extinguishing. You will oversee the planning and assignment of work to ensure it is completed based on priorities and resource capabilities. You will coordinate with officers on other shifts and stations to ensure work accomplishment, training, and priorities are met. You will brief senior leaders or other employees on matters on firefighting actives, personnel, and equipment.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Responding to emergency situations, directing the crew, and conducting fire ground operations, 2) Overseeing and directing day-to-day operations of multiple fire stations with two or more firefighting crews (including a Lead Firefighter and assigned crew) per station who drive and operate firefighting vehicles of significant complexity; 3) Performing crash and rescue operations; and 4) Assisting in reducing and/or eliminating potential fire hazards. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for this position: Firefighter I and II, Fire Officer I, II, and III, Fire Inspector I and II, Fire Instructor I and II, Airport Firefighter, HazMat Incident Commander, BLS (EMT - B Certification), and possess National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached a copy of your transcript or certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
