What you'd do
You will serve as a Technical Lead Software Developer/DevSecOps Engineer at the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFACENGCOM), NAVFAC Information Technology Center (NITC) of NAV FAC ENG AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CTR. You will leverage your expertise in software and data systems development to lead the full lifecycle development of high-performance IT solutions. Major duties
You will translate complex technical specifications into integrated cloud-native software systems, and mentor software development teams to elevate overall DevSecOps maturity. You will provide senior-level full-stack software development and engineer scalable, containerized applications within modern cloud environments. You will architect and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines, integrating rigorous "shift-left" security scanning and test automation for continuous software delivery. You will manage the DevSecOps life-cycle of application systems, ensuring secure container orchestration and efficiency in IT cloud operations. You will conduct post-implementation assessments to evaluate infrastructure scalability, system performance, and container runtime security. You will establish technical standards and design system architectures that aggressively automate enterprise workloads and business processes.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: REVIEWING MY OWN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY-RELATED WORK OR DATA AND HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING THE WORK OF OTHERS TO ENSURE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND CONSISTENCY WITH STANDARDS. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: MONITOR CUSTOMER INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) PERFORMANCE TRENDS TO IDENTIFY STANDARD REMEDIES AT DIFFERENT SUPPORT TIER LEVELS (E.G., TIER-1, TIER-2, TIER-3). 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: PRESENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) PROGRAM STRATEGIES TO SENIOR LEADERS FOR THE INCORPORATION OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: PERFORM A RISK ANALYSIS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SYSTEMS TO IDENTIFY PROBLEMS AND RECOMMEND SOLUTIONS. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1)Developing and maintaining backend business logic and frontend interfaces using modern, component-based frameworks and relational databases (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, Vue.JS, PostgreSQL); 2) Architecting, deploying, and managing scalable containerized applications within modern cloud environments (e.g., Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift), including foundational experience with secure container configurations and hardening; 3) Designing and managing automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, seamlessly integrating "shift-left" automated testing and security scanning into the software development lifecycle. **NOTE: This information must be supported by your resume in order to be considered for the position.** Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/2200/information-technology-it-management-series-2210-alternative-a/ Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
