What you'd do
About the Position: This position is located in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Fort Buchanan is the only active U.S. Army installation in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Spanning over 746 acres, it is located within the San Juan metropolitan area across the municipalities of Guaynabo, Bayamón, and San Juan.
Major duties
Provides direction and guidance to multiple employees accomplishing school transportation duties. Assigns immediate tasks to be performed by employees of the work group. Maintains time sheets for personnel. Advises employees to follow Supervisory instruction and meet established deadlines. Provides updates to supervisor on the progress of work, causes for delays, operational issues and training needs of team. Provides safe and efficient transportation for students going to and from school, ensures accountability and safety of all persons on scheduled bus route. Completes driver accident and behavioral reports.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Motor Vehicle Operator Leader without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: operating motor vehicles, providing on-the-job training or leadership; performing routine vehicle inspection; and prioritizing work.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Ability To Lead or Supervise Operation of Motor Vehicles Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Working Conditions: Drives in all types of traffic and weather and is exposed to the possibility of serious accidents. The operator is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or when loading and unloading vehicles. Physical Efforts: Light physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Moderate physical effort is required in the unloading and loading of children with special needs and their equipment, as well as assisting these students off and on the bus.
