What you'd do

You will serve as a ACCOUNTANT (STAFF) in the ACCOUNTING DIV, COMPTROLLER DEPT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Major duties

You will coordinate with other representatives for central disbursement activities, payment offices, and local command representatives to resolve unmatched disbursements and determine proper accounting disposition. You will establish and maintain internal controls for major segments in support of accounting and financial operations. You will attend meetings, conferences, workshops, representing the command making commitments as directed. You will conduct financial reviews with program and competency managers to address and resolve financial management problems. You will apply a comprehensive knowledge of analysis/reporting requirements, work processes, accounting systems structure, and data produced to resolve significant accounting problems and/or issues.

What you need to qualify

For the GS-11 Level In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Incorporating knowledge of Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF) accounting and financial operations, which includes payroll/labor, general ledger, and capital asset accounting, as well as customer service and analysis. 2) Demonstrating knowledge of financial accounting policies, laws and regulations. 3) Utilizing knowledge of financial systems in support of financial and industrial operations. 4) Evaluating accounting transactions utilizing multiple computer systems/websites to identify accounting problems and recommend corrective action; 5) Evaluating accounting transactions for compliance with organizational requirements; 6) Explaining accounting requirements and presenting accounting information to managers for use in decision making.
