PLANNER AND ESTIMATOR (CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE)
What you'd do
You will serve as a Planner and Estimator (Corrective Maintenance) in the Facilities and Infrastructure Management Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Major duties
You will perform analysis of incoming maintenance requirements to determine scope and resources needed, sequence of operations, estimating of hours, timeframe of work, and coordination of the job's execution. You will determine if multiple trades or shops are involved and if the work is a series of simultaneous or sequential operations, and establish estimated time standards for each job segment to coincide with the mandatory completion date for the job. You will utilize trade knowledge and experience to develop and document a workflow for sequential tasks of complex jobs that ensure timely and cost-effective use of resources. You will execute approved procurements and document estimated delivery dates, follow-up on status to ensure delivery dates are met, and resolve any discrepancies in order to close out the procurement. You will contact personnel to arrange for warranty work and/or seek parts and technical data, as well as arranging on-site visits and organizing required base access security and reporting procedures. You will take part in Preventive and Corrective Maintenance technical reviews and audits for the purpose of ensuring current maintenance technical instructions are available and in use.
What you need to qualify

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: (1) Completing incoming maintenance requirements to determine scope and resources needed, sequence of operations, estimating of hours, timeframe of work, and coordination of the job's execution; (2) Performing analysis of Maximo work orders using historical data, blueprints, engineering instructions, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals, and on-site inspection in order to plan material, equipment, specialized tools, labor, and other resources needed to accomplish the work; (3) Planning and initiating the manufacturing, modifying, and repairing of items or apparatus, or repairing of equipment or related utilities, while also being responsible for corrective maintenance, improvement, and modernization projects; (4) Determining type and amount of material, equipment, specialized tools, templates, or pertinent data is required, while also preparing cost and time estimates to create work plan specifications in documenting requirements and its associated cost; and (5) Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders in order to best plan and complete a project as well as collaborating with shop supervisors and mechanics on job sites to ensure adequate parts and technical guidance have been provided.
