What you'd do
This position is located in the Administrative and Management Office, Wireline Competition Bureau, Federal Communications Commission (FCC), in Washington, DC. Relocation expenses will not be paid. THIS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT MAY BE USED TO FILL ADDITIONAL POSITIONS WITHIN 90 DAYS.
Major duties
The incumbent serves as a specialist in organizational administrative management programs. Provides guidance and assistance to Bureau supervisors, managers, and employees in a variety of administrative management areas including, but not limited to: Budget Analysis and Preparation, Financial Management, Program Evaluation, Management Information Systems, Paperwork Reduction and Information Collection, Forms Management, Space and Equipment Management, Records Management and File Analysis, Organization Analysis, Personnel and Human Resources Management, and Automated Systems Management. Performs research, analyses, and evaluations in order to provide information/data regarding the impact of proposed changes in existing policies, programs, and processes as well as the impact of proposed new policies, programs, and processes. The studies involve planning and collecting information/data from within and outside of the FCC; directing the analysis and drafting of the study; discussing problems and proposals with a wide range of interested parties including program managers, other Bureaus and Offices, and customers such as industry groups; and analyzing and evaluating all information and alternatives involved to reach decisions and recommendations that reflect the most balanced and reasoned options. Performs other duties as assigned.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience includes the following: 1) Experience performing at least three or more of the following: Paperwork Reduction and Information Collection, Freedom of Information Act Management, Records Management and File Analysis, Travel Coordination, Space and Planning Management, Calendars and Meeting Planning, Congressional Inquiries, and Unified Agenda. 2) Experience using analytical, investigative, and evaluative techniques to resolve issues and conduct complex studies and projects. 3) Experience interacting with a variety of individuals at all levels of authority. 4) Experience writing a variety of documents such as letters, memorandums, and reports. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
