SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK)
What you'd do
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the TECHNICAL SUPPORT DIVISION, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY and CYBERSECURITY of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Major duties
You will be responsible for staffing, coordination, management, and oversight of major Information Management (IM) and Information Technology (IT) functional areas. You will oversee all IT functions to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of IT services. You will be responsible for understanding the capital planning regulations and policies sufficient to demonstrate total cost of proposed investments and provide input to the IT capital planning process. You will implement EEO policies and communicate support of these policies to subordinates.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience utilizing performance management and measurement methods and tools sufficient to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of IT programs. * Experience designing, developing, and managing systems that apply, extend, enhance, or optimize existing IT architecture. * Experience employing new IT developments and applications such as hardware, software, network and telecommunications. * Experience applying advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments such as developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency. * Experience providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. IT-related experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
