What you'd do

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Financial Management (OFM), Division of Program and Data Management. As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-14, you will be directing, coordinating, integrating, and collaborating staff and functions within the Division to ensure the effective coordination of all FMSG contract/task order management and contract negotiations.

Major duties

Ensure that all aspects of the Major Information Technology Business Case (MITBC) processes are implemented and in compliance with Federal Laws and Office and Management Budget (OMB) guidance. Ensure that contracts are efficiently and appropriately managed to maximum use of the agency's resources. Ensure equity of performance standards and evaluating the work performance of staff. Oversee major operational activities such as: the ongoing development and implement of project management plans and applying state-of-the-art knowledge, tools, and techniques.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Conduct the full life-cycle budget formulation and execution activities for a health organization; 2) perform contract negotiations on behalf of a health organization; 3) collaborate with contractor personnel for to develop of enterprise solutions; AND 4) contribute to the development of mid and long-range (3-10 Years) contract budget projections. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
