What you'd do

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities in the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Administrative Support and personal assistant to the Director by performing a wide variety of administrative duties in connection with the management of the office. Located at U.S. Army Material Command, Tooele Army Depot Tooele, UT

Major duties

Provide assistance or procedural guidance to the directorate and supervisors on recurring issues pertaining to personnel and positions such as awards, recruitment, performance appraisals, position descriptions, etc. Review all outgoing correspondence prepared by personnel of the directorate for spelling, grammatical accuracy, proper format, and for attachment of necessary background material. Coordinate the range of urinalysis program requirements such as physicals, urinalysis testing and makes appointments to meet the required timelines for the appointments and to meet program requirements. Research available guidance (e.g., OPM and Army web sites) for format and other information to assist supervisor with drafting or updating job descriptions. Gather information, develop data, and prepare personnel action requests. Assist director and supervisors in initiating the documentation required for classification reviews. Coordinate access requirements for classified or unclassified keys to give employees access to secure areas. Perform as the Directorates Defense Travel Administrator and is the focal point responsible for managing and providing authoritative guidance concerning the Defense Travel System (DTS).

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes applying regulations or organizational policies related to recurring personnel actions, travel arrangements or processing; and providing administrative guidance through official correspondence.
