ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN
What you'd do
You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Air Operations Department of NAS PATUXENT RIVER.
Major duties
You will conduct on-the-job (OJT) training to required personnel relating to Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems. You will maintain system logs or manuals to document operation of equipment. You will analyze test and evaluation results to develop resolutions to technical problems. You will perform troubleshooting (e.g., system faults, ringing, out wiring, connectors) of electronic equipment for preventative maintenance.
What you need to qualify
For outside applicants claiming VEOA, VRA, and 30% (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing technical airfield electronic work for compliance with regulations; 2) Troubleshooting and repairing airfield electronic equipment, air traffic control systems, radars, instrument approach systems, navigational aids, and communications systems to solve complex technical problems or improve system performance; 3) Evaluating equipment design to improve or enhance circuit and system operation; 4) Using applicable test equipment, test methods and practices as related to the Air Traffic Control equipment and systems; 5) Maintaining inspection records required by technical orders, applicable regulations, and operating instructions.
