AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER (INSTRUCTOR) (Title 32)

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER (INSTRUCTOR) (Title 32), Position Description Number D1632000 and is part of the AR ANG 154 TRG SQ, National Guard. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQURED- If you are not currently a member of any military service (Branch/Status), please provide a letter stating intent to join. This position may qualify for applicant Superior Qualification. Onboard applicants only.
Major duties
1. Conducts loadmaster training to ensure worldwide capability. Training includes initial and mission qualification as well as continuation, upgrade and specialized training. Provides actual formal classroom instruction and on-the-job experience through flying simulated or real-world missions. Analyzes and interprets guidance. Writes and modifies general guidelines from a broad scope of principles, concepts, technology and methodology in order to form practical lesson plans for flight training. Initiates and maintains training records. Analyzes and evaluates training accomplishments to determine the effectiveness of the loadmaster training program. Reviews maintenance directives, bulletins and flight manuals, applying to a broad range of loadmaster duties. Determines the adequacy of procedures and techniques for the unit's mission/weapons system and recommends and submits changes as necessary. Acquires, analyzes and evaluates trend analysis data. Teaches and demonstrates the proper donning and doffing of the Aircrew Chemical Defense Ensemble (ACDE) in preparation for operations in toxic chemical and biological environments. Instructs and certifies loadmasters on the proper use of night vision equipment for engine running on/off loads, aero medical evacuation (AES) missions, air refueling and all methods of airdrop. 2. Provides direct assistance to the aircraft Pilot. (a) Performs preflight inspection of the interior and exterior of the aircraft, to include engines, fuselage, and control surfaces for mechanical and structural soundness. Functionally checks all aircraft systems, flight instruments, and onboard computers e.g., Communications Navigation Identification Unit, Heads Down Display (HDD), the Self Contained Navigation System (SCNS), Inertial Navigation System (INS), Traffic Alert and Collision Avoiding System (TCAS), Ground Collision Avoidance System (GCAS) and Multi-functional Control Display. Inputs data into onboard computer systems. Updates Air Traffic Information System (ATIS) information and Take Off and Landing Data (TOLD) as required. Advises maintenance personnel of any items requiring corrective action or affecting safety of flight. (b) Reviews aircraft maintenance documentation and ensures aircraft maintenance status complies with the command operating restrictions and the applicable flight manual. Coordinates with aircraft maintenance personnel to ensure availability of aircraft. Determines takeoff, in-flight, and landing data, based on terrain, runways, weather conditions, and aircraft weight/configuration. Assists the pilot with engine starting and ground operations when mission dictates. Advises the pilot on engine performance, monitors departure procedures, routing, and altitude clearances. Reads maps and advises pilots of navigation turn points, obstacles, terrain hazards, threats and other aircraft. During low-level routes provides pilots with sight navigation information. Fuels and defuels aircraft. (c) During all aircraft operations, monitors engine and aircraft system performance, analyzes instrument readings, and identifies abnormal indications or system malfunctions. Observes warning indicators and lights for fire, overheating, depressurization, or other malfunctions; advises the aircraft commander, and initiates corrective or emergency actions. Operates and regulates environmental, hydraulic, fuel, electrical, pressurization, radar, and other systems as required by the applicable flight manual. Operates built-in test and trouble shooting systems. Observes power settings, airspeed, and altitude and cruise performance. Records fuel consumption, range and inflight performance data. Monitors the operation of engines and other aircraft systems to include; fuel (inflight duties include cross feed operation, balancing of fuel and fuel dumping if required), hydraulic, electrical and environmental systems. Monitors radio communications from Air Traffic Control, Command Post, and other controlling agencies. Assists the pilot with radio calls when required. Assists pilot with inflight emergencies. Observes and analyzes Advisories, Cautions and Warning System (ACAWS) and recommends appropriate actions. Reports abnormal conditions or malfunctions to the aircraft commander. Performs all flap and landing gear emergency procedures, as required. Completes post flight check of the aircraft and coordinates with maintenance all discrepancies requiring corrective action. What you need to qualify
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in functions such as preparing aircraft loading plans, loading and offloading aircraft, operating loading equipment, and ensuring security of cargo in flight. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience requirements are to be determined locally, depending on the necessary requirements for your current airframe and the required certificates as specified by the appropriate Air and Army Regulation. Specific MOS/AFSC's may be included when essential for successful performance of the position.
