This position is located in Morgantown,WV- NIOSH is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and Washington D.C. Major duties

As a Supervisory Research Health Scientist, you will: Participate with the Division Director and fully shares in the responsibility for planning, developing, evaluating, and managing the programs of the Branch. Maintain close liaison with other Branches/Divisions of the Institute to assure researchprogram plans and projects conform to the objectives, mission, and program initiatives of the Institute. Provide consultation on the design and interpretation of applied and operational research studies. Formulate, develop, and direct broad programs of active research in industrial hygiene and epidemiological studies, clinical assessment, exposure assessment, and laboratory research, which lead to advances in the field of the control of occupational respiratory disease.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Requirement: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Leading and supervising a multidisciplinary group in developing and executing occupational respiratory disease research. Investigating workplace respiratory health hazards and diseases in order to make recommendations to specific workplaces and to prevent those diseases. Providing consultation on issues related to occupational respiratory disease. Providing leadership in strategic planning and identifying priorities in occupational respiratory disease.
