This vacancy is for aWL-3703-10, Welder Leader located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Director of Operational Logistics, Base Boston, Naval Engineering Department, Industrial Production Facility South Portland in South Portland, Maine.
Major duties
You will serve as a Welder Leader and be responsible for . Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Removing and replacing interferences in way of welds, fitting brackets and machinery foundations and fitting minor structural braces, gussets or patches. Adjusting all welding controls to insure that qualified welding procedures are maintained. Articulating and communicating, to the team, assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, program issues under review, deadlines, and timeframes for completion. Identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill leave, and /or occupational specializations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
