GENERAL BUSINESS & INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a GENERAL BUSINESS & INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST (ATT COMBAT SYSTEMS GROUP LEADER) in the AEGIS Test Team Division, AEGIS Destroyer (DDG-51) Project Office of SUPSHIP GULF COAST. You will serve as the local authority on test execution for planning, managing, evaluating preparing, and directing the execution of the test program.
Major duties
You will coordinate Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to address test objectives, as well as serve as an IPT team leader by facilitating the development of objectives, goals and standards for teams associated with the test execution on AEGIS ships. You will analyze requirements and manage the coordination of all AEGIS Combat Systems (ACS) Testing required for the completion of in-port and at-sea testing, and subsequent delivery of the ship to the Navy. You will ensure proper systems integration and interface requirements are satisfied during shipboard test program and post-delivery testing periods. You will tour and inspect the ship daily (schedule permitting) and provide oversight to the actual tests being conducted to ensure a quality program with the required efficiency and effectiveness. You will participate in sea trials and all sea trial preparations, providing oversight and direction as required for an in-port and underway schedule of events that maximizes the value of the Inspection and Survey (INSURV) Acceptance Trials. You will direct and lead assignments and tasks for groups related to test program conduct including; specifications, technical manuals, test procedures, test problems, test inspections, test witness, and trouble failure reports. You will coordinate and supervise the development of taskings and assignments to government and contractor personnel regarding government conducted requirements for testing. You will coordinate with AEGIS Test Team (ATT) management, Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Ship Management, ATT work centers, NAVSEA and other activities on equipment problems and solutions to ensure tests are completed satisfactorily and timely. You will participate in System Test Configuration Review Board (STCRB) and determine potential conflicts and impacts to the test program from planned changes to the configuration of the ACS. You will interface and coordinate with senior management and technical personnel at PEO, NSWCs, NAVSEA and SPAWAR technical codes, AEGIS field activities, SUPSHIP offices, USN Board of INSURV, other Naval activities and private shipbuilders. You will develop, implement and promulgate products required to support the management of the ATT, including manning profiles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Master Planning Schedule GANTT Charts, lessons learned database and POA/M. You will prepare correspondence, technical reports, status reports, visual and oral presentations, memoranda, and contract modification requests as required to complete assignments.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning and overseeing the execution of Combat System testing to evaluate the effectiveness of shipbuilding testing programs and operations.
