This vacancy is for a GS-0301-12, Transition Relocation and SEAP Coordinator located in the, U.S. Coast Guard, the Director of Operational Logistics, Office of Base Operations, Health, Safety, and Work-Life Department, Seattle, Washington
Major duties
You will serve as a Transition Relocation and SEAP Coordinator and be responsible for administering the Transition Assistance Program (TAP), Relocation Assistance Program (RAP), and the Spouse Employment Assistance Program (SEAP). Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Administering and implementing a comprehensive TAP, RAP, SEAP for active duty, civilian, reservists, dependents, and retirees and planning, programing, monitoring and tracking resources to support the programs. Coordinating on-and-off base resources to provide a comprehensive program including information and referral (and follow-up), education and training, and counseling. Serving as a liaison with transition service providers including Civilian Human Resources, Coast Guard Education Officers, partnering Transition centers, Chaplain Retirement Services Officer, Coast Guard Staff Judge Advocate, Transportation Office, and Health Service Activities. Creating and maintaining a marketing campaign which fully utilizes all available means of publicity to include home page, newspaper, bulletin, electronic signboards, e-mail messages, monthly publications, and radio/TV public announcement. Serving as an advocate for transitioning personnel. Ensuring delivery of core services to include: the mandatory Pre-separation Briefing, Employment Assistance and information on how to obtain the DD 2586 (Verification of Military Experience and Training), and Joint Service transcripts. What you need to qualify
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Coordinating transition, relocation, and spouse employment services for military and civilian personnel. Providing employment/relocation assistance, career coaching, resume-writing, and financial planning guidance; Providing guidance on the military transition processes and relocation policies; Establishing professional relationships with community organizations, employers, and stakeholders to expand employment opportunities. Conducting training, workshops, and orientation programs related to veterans benefits, federal and state laws and regulations and work life resources available to transitioning military members and families.
