SECURITY SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the PROGRAM AND RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of HQ US MARINE CORPS.
Major duties
You will participate in the analysis, make comments and recommendations from the security perspective, including personal adjudications and physical facility protection. You will inform and make recommendations for improvements as needed. You will exercise initiative to formulate and improve security risk management policy guidance. You will conduct an inquiry of reported security violations, and adjudicates reported discrepancies. You will establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all levels of management to provide advice on new developments and advances in security techniques.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting security analysis of programs, recommending improvements and corrective measures, and inspecting facilities to ensure compliance with established security policy standards and requirements. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
