Major duties
You will serve as a staff advisor and consultant on the recruitment and placement program. You will conduct studies and analyses of Human Resources Programs. You will provide continuing advice and guidance on recruitment and staffing, basic employment policy, appointment authorities, affirmative action programs, reduction-in-force, equal employment opportunity objectives, and the Federal merit system. You will maintain and ensure command-wide position classification accuracy and consistency in interpreting and applying position classification standards.
What you need to qualify
For the NH-03 Pay Band: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing advisory services on human resources functions (e.g. Recruitment and Placement, Position Management and Classification, or Human Resources Development) for an organization to ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations. For the NH-02 Pay Band: Your resume must also demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-01 (GS-04 Equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing human resources functions (e.g. Recruitment and Placement, Position Management and Classification, or Human Resources Development) for an organization to ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
