What you'd do

You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) in the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.

Major duties

You will serve as the IT subject matter expert for NCTE and responsible for the overall execution of NCTE IT day to day activities, applies advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices. You will respond to changing mission requirements through the optimal application of IT systems/services and development and deployment of new systems/services to meet the needs of fleet training customers. You will oversee compliance of applicable Department of War (DoW) and Department of Navy (DoN), command and program applicable regulations and policies in development and maintenance of NCTE. You will provide direction to Network Operations, Help Desk, System Administration and Field Services teams. You will ensure compliance with Department of War and Department of Navy Cybersecurity policies.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring IT systems performance to maintain and deploy new network systems for the enhancement of warfighter capabilities and ensure delivery of IT solutions.
