SUBMARINE PRODUCTION MANAGER
What you'd do
You will serve as a SUBMARINE PRODUCTION MANAGER in the Structural Shop (Code 920), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Major duties
You will be responsible for the overall quality of production shop work. You will determine short and long term needs for resources. You will review cost and program reports to anticipate and/or initiate corrective actions. You will ensure compliance with all standards of work established for the Submarine platform to which you may have subordinate personnel assigned. You will develop performance standards and evaluate performance of subordinate managers. You will identify training needs and implement actions to eliminate bottlenecks.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing cost, schedule, and performance for significant work packages or smaller projects. Experience serving as a lead on major projects. Experience managing other supervisors in a General Foreman/Zone Manager Role. Experience reviewing performance appraisals, conflict resolution, and managing a multi-trade or multi-shift workforce. Experience applying knowledge of shipyard production processes, skilled trades work, and quality control within a ship repair environment. Experience identifying training needs for a team and coordinating that training and developing training plans or materials.
