This job opportunity is for an MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR, position description D0843000, within the 177th LRS of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. Its purpose is to operate and perform operator maintenance on one or more motor vehicles to transport personnel, supplies, materials or equipment.
Major duties
As an MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR, WG-5703-8, you will: Operate and perform operator maintenance Assures cargo is properly loaded, distributed, and secured Transport personnel, supplies, materials or equipment Perform warehouse work to include issuing receiving and inventorying equipment Complete log books, maintenance records, reports, and other transportation documents for accuracy
What you need to qualify
General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. Specialized Experience: Must have at least 12 months of specialized experience or training which demonstrates the following: Ability to operate one or more motor vehicles Operate platform, van, stake, and dump trucks Refueling vehicles passenger buses or ambulance buses Operate all wheeled vehicles and tractors which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds) and up to 14,400 kilograms (less than 32,000 pounds)
