What you'd do
About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Major duties
Repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, and modifies the M1 electronic system using testing equipment such as Integrated Family Test Equipment (IFTE). Perform variety of independent and interconnected test wiring diagrams and test procedures. Interprets variety of complex schematics, reference materials, specifications, wiring diagrams and test procedures. Replace or repairs items such as circuit cards, microprocessors, integrated circuits, connectors, etc. Use soldering irons and all hand tools common to the trade.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an ELECTRONIC MECHANIC without more than normal supervision. ???????I have the ability to perform common duties which include common repair, overhaul, modification, and troubleshooting of assault vehicle electronic systems. I can analyze the schematic layout and make preliminary visual inspections and operational tests to determine components causing malfunctions or invalid readings. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Ability to Use Hand and Power Tools (Electronics) Ingenuity (Ability to Suggest and Apply New Methods) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc. Theory of Electronics Troubleshooting (Electronic Equipment) Use of Test Equipment: Electronics PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Frequently handles items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally is required to lift items more than 45 pounds. Works in a sitting position for extended periods of time, and frequent standing, walking, reaching and stooping are required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside of shops that are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Is occasionally subjected to weather extremes
