RECREATION SPECIALIST (COMMUNITY CENTER)

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Scott Community Center. This is a regular, full-time position (35-40 hours per week)
Major duties
Assists in the planning, organizing, development, coordinating and administration of a comprehensive Community Center activities and programs to include core program areas and activities IAW annual program requirements for DoD military, civilians and dependents populations. Assist with all base wide special events. Plans and coordinates the details for recurring activities/events as to make maximum use of available resources. Ensures the equipment stock supports the interests and needs of the population served. Assists in the upkeep and preparation of Community Center facility. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of the basic principles, procedures, and practices of operating a comprehensive community recreation program required. Must have knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures relating to various recreation activities. Must have skills in preparing forms, schedules, and reports related to the obligation and expenditure of funds. Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Knowledge of office automation software (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) is required.
