SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK)
What you'd do
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the Theater Network Operations Security Center (TNOSC) of NAVAL COMP TELCOM STATION NAPLES Italy. This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.
Major duties
You will manage the Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) Network and Server Management (NASM) Division, server farms, network infrastructure components and remote connection service on a daily basis. You will collect, maintain, prioritize and submit Naples ONE-Net requirements. You will ensure compliance with information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of services throughout the U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Naples area of responsibility. You will make recommendations and advise the Theater Network Operations Security Center Director and Technical Director on matters pertaining to IT plans, programs, studies, policies and procedures. You will provides technical oversight; develops performance plans, evaluates work performance of subordinates, and provides recommended ratings of record.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled including information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have direct applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Manages network, server farms, network infrastructure components and remote connection service daily collecting and prioritizing network requirements. -Provides oversight of tasks and projects assigned. -Ensures compliance with IA policies and principles. -Develops, maintains, and monitors standards and procedures to ensure compatibility. -Responsible for the coordination of a 24/7 watch team consisting of civilian and military personnel that perform the daily operations and maintenance.
