Major duties
Plan, develop, staff and implement operational and tactical policy and required resources to execute the JIATF South Mission. Serve as a subject matter expert for a full range of concepts, principles and practices and the development of Counter Narco-Terrorism (CNT) plans and policies. Develop new or modified approaches and procedures in direct support of the goals and objectives of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, USIC Interdiction Planning Guidance and USSOUTHCOM counterdrug directives. Research, analyze, and provide recommendations regarding objectives and projected mission requirements, resources and measures of effectiveness and performance to the Director. Participate in cross-command working groups for the conceptual plan, design, coordination, preparation and maintenance of national and theater level counterdrug strategies and plans. Routinely work and collaborate with senior members of the CBP, DEA, FBI, U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of the State to accomplish the mission.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS/GG-13: One year of specialized experience which includes developing counter narco-terrorism (CNT) plans or policies; assisting with the strategic, operational, or tactical planning of counterdrug strategies; and partnering with other Agencies in support of a mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
