PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS)
What you'd do
You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the OPERATION DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. TEMPORARY PROMOTION, NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR MAY BECOME PERMANENT.
Major duties
You will prepare, update, modify, and review networks/schedules from information obtained at job summary reviews. You will produce error reports and take action to resolve network errors; provide “what-if” studies and reviews critical path schedules. You will construct game plans, gantt schedules or bubble charts for special projects that cannot be molded with CPM networks or where a lower level detail is required to manage work. You will BAIM test and event readiness reports to ensure schedule sequence is correct to the proper test or event and reconcile differences.
What you need to qualify
FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with understanding work sequences and operations in the construction, conversion and repair of ships systems. Experience understanding Baseline Advanced Industrial Management/Project Scheduling and Sequencing processes (BAIM/PSS) and guidelines. Experience utilizing arithmetic and practical mathematics such as algebra and geometry. Experience resolving network logic errors and improper work durations. FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with updating and constructing various schedules, i.e. Key Event Schedules, Test Sequences, Critical Path Schedules, Job Summary/Boundary Sequences, Report Listings, Gantt Schedules and Bubble charts for work studies, game plans, and special work evolutions. Experience reading blueprints, system diagrams, technical manuals and process instructions. Experience utilizing arithmetic and practical mathematics such as algebra and geometry. Experience setting up and operating peripheral equipment.
