SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN (BIOMEDICAL)
What you'd do
You will serve as a Supervisory Electronics Technician in the BIOMEDICAL REPAIR DEPARTMENT of NAVMEDREADLOGCMD.
Major duties
You will direct, coordinate, or oversee work of subordinate civilian and contract personnel. You will exercise responsibility in dealing with officials from other organizations both military and civilian. You will review and recommend employee overtime, training needs and requests, and travel. You will review and provide factual data used in the determination of whether contractor's or government agencies performed work meeting standards. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of assignment difficulty and requirements, and the employee's capabilities. You will develop and evaluate subordinate employees' performance standards. You will develop and implement training plans to accommodate proper certification of technicians on a wide array of biomedical equipment. You will develop and formulate department budget requests, objectives, work processes and staffing requirments. You will serve as an Electronics Technician (Biomedical), supporting a broad range of biomedical equipment through the equipment lifecycle. You will maintain total responsibility for the condition, serviceability, and patient safety of all biomedical equipment. You will coordinate and work effectively with other departments to prepare equipment for rapid, worldwide deployment in humanitarian, disaster relief and military contingency operations. You will utilize common test equipment including, but not limited to patient simulators, pulse generators, network analyzers, test phantoms, electrical safety analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters. You will represent Biomedical/Clinical Engineering department on committees and in meetings as delegated by supervisor. You will lead and manage installation or upgrade projects for medical devices and systems. You will be responsible for analyzing statistical reports (developed from sampled data) for monthly submission as well as other local reports and making management decisions to correct deficiencies and gain efficiencies. You will investigates, remediate and document Repairable Medical Device (RMD) recalls and safety alerts within established timeframes. You will maintain quality control checks of Biomedical operations to ensure that all requirements, tests, and certifications have been performed and properly documented.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing complex systems and large sophisticated patient monitoring systems. Experience applying knowledge of Electronics theory and medical procedures. Experience supervising performance of maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, overhaul, and surveillance testing of electronic components, medical equipment and systems, and modifications based on official guidance. Experience operating a wide variety of Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment to include invasive and non-invasive. Preferred experience includes the following: (1) The DoD Biomedical Equipment Technician program. (2) An associate degree in biomedical Electronics Technology or equivalent from an accredited institution. (3) An associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent from an accredited institution and be a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), Certified Radiography Equipment Specialist (CRES), or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES).
