SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
What you'd do
This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority 5 U.S.C. § 9905, dated 6/23/2023 This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will serve as first level supervisor providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Information Technology Branch of the Joint Finance Center.
Major duties
As a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0501-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Information Technology Branch, ensuring that all financial aspects of acquisition programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities of the Information Technology branch chief. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements. Represents the financial position of the PEO with a variety of command and functional organizations. Plans, organizes, directs and performs in-depth technical studies. Establishes, develops and maintains effective working relationships with program stakeholders; program managers with USTRANSCOM; and throughout the Services and within DOD.
What you need to qualify
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, military, or private sector: Demonstrated ability to lead a project or team in order to plan and schedule work distribution to other staff members. Planning and organizing efforts to comply with financial guidance, financial analysis objectives and achieve organizational goals. Evaluating financial information and analysis against applicable policies, principles and practices. Providing financial analysis information, both in writing and during briefings or meetings, to internal and external personnel. Utilizing strategies for analyzing, evaluating, and presenting financial analyses including budget execution for assigned programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
