ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
What you'd do
You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Test & Work Control Engineering Division (Code 246), Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of PSNS and IMF.
Major duties
You will be directly responsible for the planning, document preparing, control, execution, and certification of testing of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical systems on naval nuclear and nonnuclear vessels undergoing work by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. You will provide technical engineering solutions for testing, control of ships conditions, transfer of ships systems operation and work controls for all non-nuclear systems. You will obtain and maintain the status of all in process and upcoming production work and test. You will direct execution of authorized procedures as necessary to establish system conditions required for work, maintenance and testing. You will provide day-to-day management, control, and direction of the non-nuclear work control and test program. You will approve, monitor and provide technical oversight during test evolutions and ensure procedural compliance is followed.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to develop mechanical and electrical system isolation and tagout process by overseeing control system conditions and the transfer of ship systems operations (such as Work Authorization Form (WAF), testing, system operations, tagout, Tagout Users Manual (TUM) for ship or submarine system repair, overhaul, or maintenance projects.
