INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST in the System Safety and Air Systems Integration Department within the Air Systems Group (ASG) of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. Salary Control Point: If selected, your salary will be set according to the established control points of this position, which is $143,913 p.a. - $187,093 p.a.
Major duties
You will provide technical direction for the planning, organizing, directing, conducting and reporting of system safety in support of assigned programs and integrated systems for air and sea applications. You will develop new System Safety test techniques and approaches to reduce the severity and frequency of hazards and mishaps and keeps abreast of the state-of-the-art technologies applicable to tactical aircraft weapon systems. You will prepare written and oral reports to higher management regarding program safety status and requirements. You will recommend acceptance and rejection safety related documentation and priorities for project work on the basis of technical, fiscal, personnel, required project completion date, and other resource considerations. You will accomplish other duties as assigned.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level DS-05 (GS-12/13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: (1) Providing system safety engineering support and technical leadership for assigned aviation weapon system programs/projects; (2) Interfacing with program stakeholders and technical leadership to resolve safety issues and hazards; and (3) Applying system safety technical acumen and expertise to assess system level hazards and execute system safety programs.
