What you'd do

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST (Technical Support Center Lead) in the Warfighter Defense & System Integration Department (W), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Information Management Division (W2), Visual & Technical Information Support Branch (W24) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV.

Major duties

You will lead employees staffing the Technical Support Center; including assigning and balancing workload, training or arranging for training, preparing reports, monitoring and reporting on the status of work, and building team consensus. You will maintain technical expertise and provide expert consultation in the tools, equipment, methods, and techniques associated with the safe conduct of ordnance exploitation and other EOD related work. You will represent the organization and command at meetings and conferences; utilize database and information systems to capture and analyze requests over time to determine trend information utilized to improve response to customers and stakeholders. You will conduct independent research to resolve technical requests relevant to conventional explosive ordnance, improvised explosive devices, chemical, biological, or nuclear devices, and other threat situations faced by operational EOD forces. You will provide assistance and information on improved methods and techniques developed by render safe and other ordnance exploitation specialists to mitigate risks to a wide customer base including field operating forces and other federal agencies.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise on relevant conventional devices to provide explosive ordnance information and decision support for the safety and success of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal community. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14.
