What you'd do
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Child Development Center, Beale AFB, CA. You will be scheduled to work anywhere from 0-40 hours per week; hours are not guaranteed. This position does not receive benefits. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Continuous standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
Major duties
Prepares, cuts, and assembles fresh, canned, or frozen fruits and vegetables for standard serving sizes as part of a kitchen team, supporting cooks to deliver food, dishes, and cutlery to classrooms. Maintains professionalism and ensures sanity standards are met within the kitchen. Collects food dishes and cutlery from classrooms following completion of meals. Maintains inventory of needed food and kitchen supplies. Makes cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients. Scrapes, soaks, scours and scrubs bowls, pots and pans. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, washes floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, sanitizes garbage cans. May unload food from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area. Performs all other duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgement in sequencing tasks. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, and for cleaning equipment and work area.
