What you'd do

You will serve as a Equipment Specialist in the Project Material and Work Packaging Division of the Detachment Guam for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF) at Naval Base Guam. The primary PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Major duties

You will manage and coordinate the timely ordering and acquisition of project materials. You will provide information and guidance to project team on material requirements, sources of supply, and prices for overhaul, alteration and repair of shipboard equipment and systems. You will review job material lists for accuracy and conformance to approved policies and procedures. You will coordinate all material procurement efforts for assigned systems. You will advise project engineers and technicians of material requirements to meet required specifications. You will obtain, evaluate, and recommend selection of manufacturer's development proposals based upon consideration of costs, engineering merits, and the ability of the manufacturer to meet requirements.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience in interpreting drawings and blueprints for system and components to support material ordering and system operability. 2) Providing scheduling as it applies to component ordering to support production.
