What you'd do

You will serve as an Accountant in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy Branch (SUP111), Financial Operations Division (SUP11), Deputy Commander for Financial Management/Comptroller (SUP01) of CNSSC MECHANICSBURG NWCF MHA.

Major duties

You will review and analyze ERP and related accounting systems and reports for fiduciary accuracy and completeness, and initiates corrective action, as necessary. You will review and reconcile undistributed disbursements/collections, unliquidated obligations, accounts receivable, accounts payable and performance reports. You will prepare the Balance Sheets and Statements of Budgetary Resources. You will attend material and financial accounting meetings and conferences, and actively participate.

What you need to qualify

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized accounting experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying principles, concepts, and practices to perform assignments concerning financial management and accounting. Specific work experience demonstrates the following: 1) Review accounting and financial reports to identify and correct discrepancies; 2) Utilize automated financial systems to extract, interpret, and analyze financial reports and statistical data; 3) Evaluate and identify accounting system deficiencies, policy issues, and audit requirements to take or recommend corrective action; and 4) Advise and assist management on accounting and financial matters.
