We are seeking a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist to oversee property accountability, inventory operations, lifecycle asset management, and a team of inventory professionals. Major duties

Leads and manages a centralized inventory and property management program supporting multiple NIH Institutes and Centers, ensuring effective stewardship of accountable government assets. Supervises inventory management staff by assigning work, evaluating performance, developing employees, and fostering a high-performing team. Directs the full lifecycle management of government property, including acquisition, accountability, inventory, transfer, reutilization, and disposal. Ensures compliance with Federal, HHS, and NIH property management policies, regulations, and internal control requirements while maintaining audit-ready property records. Analyzes inventory data, funding, and operational requirements to improve inventory management, strengthen accountability, and recommend process improvements. Serves as the principal advisor to leadership on property and inventory management issues and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to support NIH operations.

You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing integrated management and control of activities involving specialized supplies and equipment; planning and determining current and future requirements for the major supply groups assigned; maintaining inventory control records in an automated system; investigating discrepancies between the physical inventory and the inventory database in order to review corresponding records and resolve problems; and developing documents and reports on inventory results.
