PRINCIPAL TECHNICAL MANAGER FOR UNDERSEA WEAPONS
What you'd do
You will serve as Principal Technical Manager for Undersea Weapons in the Undersea Weapons Department of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport.
Major duties
You will serve as a Department Head providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for all departmental operations. You will be responsible for performing Science and Technology, Research and Development, Acquisition, Test and Evaluation and full-spectrum life-cycle support for torpedoes and undersea weapons. You will lead the application of advanced automated maintenance and sustainment technologies and digital transformation of sustainment and production management technologies to deliver undersea weapon systems at scale and speed. You will provide authoritative scientific and technical advice and guidance on Undersea Warfare (USW) programs. You will negotiate complex solutions within specific functional areas with major US government, academic, and International stakeholders.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQs): Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications: TQ 1. Ability to apply engineering and scientific theories across the full lifecycle-including Science and Technology (S&T), Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E), acquisition, and in-service engineering-to deliver and sustain operationally relevant undersea weapons and weapon systems to the Fleet. This includes proven expertise in systems engineering, project management, and production execution to transition and sustain advanced warfighting capabilities. TQ 2. Demonstrated ability to lead technical and business operations within a complex R&D organization, leveraging knowledge of the Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF) construct. Proven expertise in developing organizational strategic plans, investment roadmaps, and capabilities aligned with Navy and Department of War strategic guidance (such as NUWC Keyport's mission). This includes a track record of building collaborative partnerships and leading diverse teams across the Naval Research & Development Enterprise, Fleet, industry, and academia.
