What you'd do

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - Office of the Chief Data Officer - Enterprise Integration Innovation Center (EII -OD1).

Major duties

Constructs scalable data pipelines using advanced tools. Analyzes complex data elements, system flows, and dependencies to develop conceptual, physical, and logical data models supporting enterprise analytics. Assesses data sources and integration workflows to reduce manual reporting. Evaluates model adequacy and enforces data governance practices to ensure the integrity, quality, and pertinence of analytical outputs. Develops automated data processing workflows using programming languages and advanced tools to optimize data reliability, operational efficiency, and overall data quality. Plans and executes statistical analytics projects and empirical studies to design, evaluate, and validate sampling plans, analytical procedures, and predictive data models. Advises senior leadership on emerging technologies, AI trends, and analytics strategies. Briefs stakeholders and leads technical discussions to advance data science program planning and system modernization.

What you need to qualify

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Leading complex data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing, and statistical modeling initiatives; designing, automating, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines; and ensuring data analytics infrastructures comply with cybersecurity and information security standards. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
