What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Major duties

You will be responsible for administrative control of the major services provided by the Engineering Department, Laboratory and Certification services, and associated areas of responsibility. You will be responsible for management of the Engineering Department Continuous Process Improvement Plan. You will be responsible for the Management Information Control program. You will maintain liaison with other Naval Shipyards, private contractors and equipment manufacturers to keep abreast with latest technology. You will receive requests for technical assistance and determine which requests can be accomplished in-house and establish priorities for accomplishment. You will provide guidance to junior technical personnel and provide engineering guidance for complex problems. You will manage Branch finances to ensure utilization and preclude over expenditures. You will plan work to be accomplished, sets priorities, and approves work schedules for direct reports to include recommendations for promotions, reassignments, and awards.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Overseeing and managing administrative control of services provided by the Engineering Department Administrative and Laboratory and 2M/Calibration Lab Certification Branch, applying expert knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines resolving complex problems in relation to Fleet Maintenance, Work Brokering for fleet technical assistance, Budget Administration, Departure from Specifications, Material and Oil Analysis, 2M Lab and Technician certification process, and Calibration Lab certification.
