What you'd do
You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (MATERIALS & PROCESSING) in the NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING DIVISION, CODE 135 of PSNS and IMF. GS-11: $83,935 - $109,122 GS-12: $100,602 - $130,786
Major duties
You will develop, maintain, prepare and review official correspondence, formal technical/training reports, status reports and schedules as required to verify product quality, inspector certification status, and to complete project assignments. You will perform the duties as a Nondestructive Test Method Manager in the Technical/Training Support Branch. You will modify lesson plans consistent with the needs and make-up of the class, to meet the current state-of-the-art and professional developments within the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) method. You will develop, refine, revise and adapt inspection techniques, lesson plans, and procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring the correctness and quality of technical work documents and other correspondence directing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to be accomplished by the Shipyard as implemented by local written procedures. You will serve as technical and training subject matter expert concerning the interpretation and application of technical manuals and specifications as they relate to nondestructive testing of ships and shipboard components. You will be responsible for assuring materials, processes, inspection techniques, procedures, and lesson plans meet specifications. You will be responsible for quality control and training functions of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods in the shipyard.
What you need to qualify
GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing Nondestructive Testing procedures, participating in surveillances, and reviewing inspection records and processes to ensure compliance with established technical specifications for the ongoing success of the Nondestructive Testing program. GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with the development of Nondestructive Testing procedures, participating in surveillances, and reviewing inspection records and processes to ensure compliance with established technical specifications for the ongoing success of the Nondestructive Testing program.
