Major duties

If selected at the GS-13 level, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity. Serves as senior Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) staff specialist and advisor on quality assurance functions, policies, training and implementation. Plans, formulates, and coordinates master quality assurance plans, policies, and programs for worldwide application at DCMA field activities. Develops concepts, policies and training for mid and long term QA program plans, and formulates organization plans. Evaluates effectiveness of plans and policies, training and develops improvements. Leads team projects to eliminate barriers to continuous improvement in agency quality assurance functions. Provides technical assistance and advice on intricate quality assurance issues to HQ DCMA management and field activities worldwide. Provides liaison with various DCMA, DoD, other Government senior managers, organizations and industry.

What you need to qualify

To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade(General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: GS-13: Gathering data to support the formulation of worldwide quality assurance policies. Designing training modules for agency quality assurance policies. Conducting reviews of current QA plans to identify areas for operational enhancement. Providing technical assistance on specific QA guidelines to assigned field activities. GS-14: Interpreting complex quality assurance regulations to provide authoritative guidance to staff. Planning master quality assurance plans designed for worldwide application across DCMA field activities. Leading cross-functional team projects to identify and eliminate systemic barriers to continuous improvement. Resolving complex QA disputes and engineering challenges for worldwide field activities.
