What you'd do

Security and Counterintelligence is responsible for the protection of NSA/CSS information, people, and facilities worldwide. Support Specialists contribute to the Security and Counterintelligence mission primarily through the Office of Personnel Vetting and Physical Security by tracking, managing and maintaining sensitive security information. Support Specialists assist with an array of critical tasks, to include creating and maintaining security records, updating security systems of record.

Major duties

Security and Counterintelligence is responsible for the protection of NSA/CSS information, people and facilities worldwide. In support of this mission, Support Specialists are integrated into the personnel, physical, and counterintelligence security disciplines to ensure highly sensitive information utilized in all security processes are protected and handled in accordance with all applicable laws and policies. Interfacing with NSA and other agencies, these specialists are the backbone of and the customer service representatives for the Security and Counterintelligence team. Support Specialists work in a myriad of offices. The responsibilities of a Support Specialist include, but are not limited to: - Track/manage highly sensitive security processes - Maintain highly sensitive security information, disclosed only to authorized recipients, in appropriate formats, and within constraints of relevant laws (e.g., the Privacy Act and FOIA). - Prepare accurate and complete reports that document processes, outcomes, and findings - Provide basic security analysis and risk recommendations to decision makers and customers - Create products based on analysis of security and/or counterintelligence data
