Job Description

Serves as an Aerospace Engineering Technician (QA) supporting Quality Assurance Team oversight of Federal Aviation Administration contract maintenance work performed for Flight Program Operations.

Qualifications

To qualify for this FV-I (FG/GS-13) position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H (FG/GS-12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes experience troubleshooting and analyzing aircraft problems; utilizing diagnostic equipment to resolve performance discrepancies and determining airworthiness of highly modified aviation platforms. AND In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a selective factor for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants who do not possess this criterion are ineligible for further consideration. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SPF): Applicants must possess the following to receive consideration: - A valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate. - documented experience in one of the following: Executing quality assurance or quality control responsibilities under an FAA-approved maintenance program for 14 CFR Part 121 Air Carrier in a maintenance environment with scheduled service and a fleet size greater than 50 OR experience in a 14 CFR Part 135 Air Operator/Air Carrier in a maintenance environment with a fleet size greater than 15 or more OR military equivalent maintenance environment. Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
