Job Description

Serves as an Airway Transportation System Specialist within the Automation and Communication Branch at the FAA Academy.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position at the FG/GS 13 (FV-I) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG/GS-12 (FV-H) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience includes: Experience providing technical support for one or more of the FAA National Airspace System (NAS) and Next Generation (NextGen) Air Transportation System; Automation, Communication, Environmental, Navigation and Radar systems used to support FAA Academy training; Experience identifying and analyzing the conditions affecting problems with designing, testing, modifying, troubleshooting, or maintaining systems; Experience providing guidance and conducting on-the-job training. AND Physical Requirements: You must be able to perform efficiently the essential functions of the position without hazard to yourself or others. Selectee must pass a pre-employment physical prior to appointment. Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their Work History.
